A classic song about international goodwill, Mera Joota Hai Japani, played at the SCO Summit
Classical Bollywood numbers Awaara Hoon and Mera Joota Hai Japani Strong praise by politicians who participated in the SCO summit in Astana on Friday, from the Japanese, Raj Kapoor movies.
Two songs were played during the lunch at the Bangkok Hall in the Palace of Independence, the venue of the (Shanghai Cooperation Orgnaistaion)SCO Summit, at the Independence Palace.
Awaara Hoon is from the classic Hindi film, Awaara of 1951, where Raj Kapoor is portrayed, while Mera Joota Hai Japani is popular with the 1955 Bollywood film Shri 420 and besides Kapoor, he was also in the lead role.
A diplomat said, "Both songs were played during lunch and they got wide praise."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had represented India at the summit, where India and Pakistan became full members of the group.
