WhatsApp will now get digital payment option after hike



Instant messaging app WhatsApp has got approval to start payment service in India. National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has given the green signal to WhatsApp Partnership for banks for digital payment. The company had been interacting with top executives for digital payments in advance. Earlier, the reports were coming out that the company has also started the restoration of UPI Exports.
WhatsApp will now partner with many banks. Users can then option to transfer money to WhatsApp only. For this, the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) will be used.
Prior to this, Instant Messaging App Hike has also introduced such digital payment transfer. Not only that, American technology giant Google has completed testing of UPI.
Although Google has not yet received the green signal from the Reserve Bank of India for this. Google will require approval from RBI for digital payment in the country.According to reports, both Facebook and WhatsApp are interacting with NPCI to launch UPI payment service in India. According to data from the National Payment Corporation of India, more than 10 million transactions have been done using UPI last month.
Significantly, National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is the main company of Indian retail payment system.
NPCI's MD and CEO has said that companies like WhatsApp and Google are big and can partner with many banks and give easy payment process to the users. Although he said that Google is still awaiting the approval of the Reserve Bank of India
